I have an Emmons push pull D10 with a 3 way lever switch. I recently bought a pair of Lawrence L-705 twin blade pickups that have White/Black/Red/Green/Blue Wires. I know I could simply install them as humbuckers by soldering two wires together, but am considering converting to split coil and buying a 5 position lever switch. Can anybody guide me in how I should wire the switch to get split or humbucking coils on both necks? A diagram would be nice!
I currently have LXR-16 PUPs which I have grown tired of and are coming out. The switch is old and needs to be replaced anyway. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

Nicholas;
Thank you for those links. Unfortunately, they do not pertain to the Lawrence L-705, which has wiring for using one or both windings inside each pickup. Most of these diagrams show how to wire separate pickups to a switch. I need help wiring one split coil on each neck.
If anybody has already wired a L-705 split coil PUP to a 5 way lever switch, please show me how you wired it. My pickups have White, Black, Red, Green and Blue colored wires, plus a braided shield. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

What I am hoping to accomplish with these split coil pickups is as follows. The switch is between the necks.
Lever switch position 1 is thrown full left and 5 is full right.
- E9 humbucking
- E9 single coil
- E9 and C6 single coil
- C6 single coil
- C6 humbucking

This is a generic diagram for a six string but I believe it will give you what you're after, just ignore the volume/tone part.
I have a newer 705, it only has four wires + shield, no blue. Red & white are one coil, black & green the other. I believe the blue on yours is ground but a quick Google should find someone to tell you for sure. Good luck!
