I was inspired by Dom Franco's posts on lap steel as vocal accompaniment. I agree with Dom. It's well suited and under-appreciated for that purpose. I do enjoy the instrumental posts as well, but honestly, many of them are over my head. I'm more of a singer/songwriter than a dazzling instrumentalist.
So here's my take on the old Billie Holiday standard. Johnie King lap steel tuned lo to hi G B D F# A B D F#. Played through a Blackstar fly. A few bobbles here and there. Hope you enjoy anyway.
