I am looking for an EARLY Fender D-8 Pedal Steel guitar, in GREAT condition.
It's for a long overdue project to build a Speedy West setup guitar.
NO 10 strings, it's too much going on when you slam the bar!
Has to have the old changer behind the nut (solid or rolled) with the WIDE pickup.
PM'me! Thanks!... J-D. _________________ __________________________________________________________

I say it humorously, but I mean it. |

That’s a Long Scale Fender 1000. Try Fender pedal steel page of Facebook, too. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

I am not sure about the scale lenght. Yes I believe the early ones hat a longer scale.
I just want the early ones, because that's what Speedy had after the Bigsby and I feel had the best tone with.
I know, they go thru string like my wife goes thru high heels and Hermés hand bags (in HER DREAMS! Ha!)... but that's what I want.
I don't know if b0b looks on it too kindly upon cross posting.
Thanks!... J-D. _________________ __________________________________________________________

What you are showing is the longer scale earlier version. If you are looking for one you should ask wherever there are the most Fender fans. I stand by my suggestion but do whatever you think is best. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

i have seen those with a roller bridge. i dont know if that was a fender upgrade later on or not. sure would reduce the string breakage. |

Yes, the roller bridges and nuts were added by Fender, and they also sold them separately for retrofit purposes on the older guitars. |
