I miss my trusty old NV 400. Sold it awhile back due to the weight & my bad back.
I've tried a few setups in the past year or 2 and they sound good, even great, but don't have the feel.
Can any of you folks recommend a lighter weight NV400 probably SS amp?
Have tried tube amps, good ones too! But it's not the same. Tube sag I guess.
Maybe a DV Mark?
I know it's a loaded question, I'm tired of chasing amp tone.
I like a big fat sound.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Just 'cause I look stupid, don't mean I'm not. |

I'm going for the DV Mark. Will report in a week or 2.
Feel like I'm clogging up the internet with all these posts.
Thanks all! _________________ Just 'cause I look stupid, don't mean I'm not. |

So far so good with the DV Mark.
Anybody have some settings to share with the DV?
I'm playing a PP. Pickup reads at 16 ohms.
Now if we could only make a racket with it out in the world.
Thanks in advance! _________________ Just 'cause I look stupid, don't mean I'm not. |

Which DV? I was looking at a used one in Guitar center's website, Greg Howe 250, also Tone Block 201.
I used to have a Boss Katana 50 which worked great, not quite real tube sound but I could pick it up with 2 fingers, the only problem was their 5 button footswitch only worked with the 100 models _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

Yes Gene - GH 250.
As you said, not quite a tube sound. Very warm for a ss amp.
Reverb is really wide, so you turn it down.
The only "problem" I'm having after messing with it for 2 days is the channel switch button is kinda small. The remedy is a foot switch. _________________ Just 'cause I look stupid, don't mean I'm not. |

I have the DV Mark 250 and it's a very nice lightweight amp. I also use an MXR 10 band EQ in the effects loop. This extends the tonal shape and adds to the character of the amp. _________________ I survived the sixties! |
