Ii it better to put the effects pedals going into the volume pedal or after the volume pedal. What is normal practice? Thank you !

I use a Black Box and it goes first Guitar--Black Box--Amp
I run my effects through the effects Loop that is the line up that works best for me.

One thing I've learned-

Any distortion has to go before the volume pedal.

And reverb must go after.

I put delay after but that may not matter.

Very dependant on what specific volume pedal and effects you are using, and what the goal is for your tone. I prefer having the volume pedal act as a master volume after a compressor, drive stages and EQ on my six string - but doing so really messes with the sweep of my passive volume pedal (Im getting an active one to see how much of a change it makes). Reveb and modulations are typically after but its all opinions and I recommend experimenting. I run my passive pedal as the first thing out of the guitar at the moment.
