I have a couple of Evans ESPA preamps...
They are discontinued...too bad because they sound phenomenal...
I'm down to one power supply-24v at 200 ma...
Scot Buffington at Evans told me today they are out of them...and that they are not big enough,amperage wise...
Anybody had to replace one of these?What did you use?
I had a couple of"Enercell"AC adapters from Radio Shack,but they have died as well...
Two preamps...one power supply...that ain't big enough...
...when it's gone...???

| Steve, you might contact Keith Hilton. The power supply he uses on his volume pedals is 24 volts, 500 ma. If he doesn't sell the power supplies, he could probably tell you where to get them. |

| You can use a power supply that has a higher ma output with no problems, as long as the voltage and connector is proper. 200ma sounds extremely low. A 500ma should be available. |

I'm still looking through the bins Steve. I have several 24v power supplies, but the ones I've found so far are DC output.
If I find some AC units you're welcome to them for the cost of shipping. |

I have a bunch of industrial audio/video power supplies that I just finished looking through. All of them are DC output.  I did find one 420 ma 22 VAC unit that measures about 25+ Volts on a meter. It needs a plug but you are welcome to it if you think you can use it.

If it's truly 24 Volts AC (24VAC), most any 24 VAC (Volts Alternating Current) wall wart should work. You said "-24v" in the original post, which implies DC, tip negative. I was not clear on what was needed, which I why I didn't reply earlier.
If it truly wants -24V DC, you don't want to hook up a 24 VAC wall wart to it.
I, personally, would ask Scott for the technical specs before I did a thing. But if you tried it and it works, you're good to go. |

That's a hyphen...punctuation...
The preamp says"24vac"below the power jack on the back of the preamp...
Scot told me that the 200ma power supply that came with the preamp wasn't nearly enough...1.5 would be much better...I don't know the reasoning for it, but one of them went out not long after the preamp got here and was replaced by a universal ac adapter from Radio Shack(who ain't here anymore either)...that one just died too...
I have ordered a 24vac 2A wall wart from an outfit out west...maybe it'll work...
