I'm looking for what B6 pedal change should go on the last spot considering what I have and am committed to. Note that I release my E to D# lever when engaging pedal 6 (which I moved next to my A pedal to give me the missing 9th string D where I can use it with the A pedal as well) I appreciate your help |

To complete the B6 setup you need to raise 5 & 6 to C# & A# _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Thanks Ian, I spoke to another Steeler friend who added that Pedal 7 by itself makes a Maj9 but can also be used with Pedal 5 , which in my case is next to it. So hopefully I can plumb up this change this week |

Having P5 and P7 together is very nice, as they work rather like the A & B pedals on the E9 side. And together they give a 13th chord and a 7#9. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Interesting set up. I've been developing a S10 B6 universal copedant. The F# - G raise has been very useful. My set up has 3 pedals/ 4 levers. After Es are raised, its pretty much in E9 territory. A & B operate more or less standard but C has the trad pedal 7 function, bringing G# & B up to A# & C#. I use that pedal alot. Very useful to have that whole tone raise available on G#. |

I find that although P7 is a must-have in B6, it's also handy (footy?) in E9 as it gives a sweet 7th chord with string 7 as the root. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Ya that triad rooted on F# is very handy, or footy as you say! That pedal alone offers a ton of harmonic possibility. I particularly like using it to add colour to an otherwise plain G#m7 or B6. Its a new change for me so I'm still working out the practical uses for it! |

Back in my old "full time" playing days I used the E9/B6 Uni on my old 12 string ShoBud for quite a few years. For the last twenty some years I've been using a copedant that I worked up myself mostly because I've been gigging as the only lead and doubling on my Telecaster. I can pretty much handle most of my lead work on either instrument. I do an instrumental of "Pretty Woman" with the low string E riff done on open strings. Look at my set up and you'll see it's basically an extended E/9 with the 2nd and 9th strings tuned to C#. For the PW intro I just use the LKR to raise the 9th string to D.... Here's a copy of my setup if anyone's interested in something different.........JH in Va.
