I spoke with someone at Bill Lawrence as recently as about three weeks ago and they were certainly still operating at that time. I think they are likely very busy because they quoted a watiing time of 4 to 6 weeks to have a pickup made. I elected to buy a used one instead. You'll get them on the phone if you keep trying. An email response might take quite awhile.

I sent them 3 or 4 emails a few weeks ago, called and left two messages, then finally reached someone on the phone. She said she was busy and would call me back in half an hour. I called back a few hours later and left another message, with no further response. Somebody out there surely wants my business more than that?

Bill and Becky are working their tails off. Just keep trying and you'll get through and get your pickups sooner or later. I'll think it will be worth your effort.

Ernie. That is correct. Bill is making pickups for Fender, which would help explain why they are so busy these days. Bill and Becky moved their operations from Pennsylvania to California several years ago in an effort to be closer to Fender's operations. They still do make pickups for steel guitar, and they're arguably still the best in the industry, but it is a little difficult getting a hold of them on the phone sometimes. As Randy says, just keep trying and you'll eventually get through.
