I finally finished my D-10 Rains rebuild. It started out as a rosewood 8 & 4 and now has 9 & 5 with a gloss black front apron and polished necks. The Telonics X10 pickups really makes the guitar come alive. A special thanks to Curtis Hogue at Rains Steel Guitars for supplying me with parts and Dave Beaty at Telonics for giving me the secrete to the X10 pickup installation.

What a work of art, Mike! Very nice!
Appears the view from top features
Rosewood rather than gloss black.
How do you like Dave's X10's? I have
the 84PW in my Rains, which I like, but
I understand the X10 is a definite improvement.
Now get back to work on that house!

Looks great Mike! I believe that guitar looks familiar!
Bet you had to do some sanding on the top of the necks to be able to polish them. Lol

I was looking closer at you nice work! Noticed that new logo plate.
That looks pretty neat. Did you design that yourself? Cool!

I had a local shop design and make it. It's bigger than the normal logo and is chrome on black metal that blends more with the color of the guitar. Although the pictures don't show the pedal bar, it still supports the normal Rains log.

Thanks for all of your positive comments on my Rains.

Mike, Curtis... that is gorgeous!

The undercarriage is brilliant.

I'm especially drawn to the robust knee levers. Would love to learn more about those lovely reversers.
