I'm looking at what I believe is a "parts guitar" but I can't find another changer that looks like this one on the web...figured one of the experts here would know.

Fair enough...unfortunately I don't have access to better pictures.
The position of those two bolts behind the changer seems particularly distinctive, but as I said, I've not been able to turn up another guitar from any maker where the changer is attached that way yet. |

There's something prototypical or downright homebaked about it.
Can anyone decipher what's on the front apron? _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

The front apron says Electra. Emmons fretboard, non-Emmons pedals and knee levers. So it's an oddball, for sure. |

Emmons tuners. The whole neck looks Emmons to me. The tail block / spacer thingy behind the changer could be home made based on Emmons as they screw in to the body from underneath. If the builder didn't have the ability to tap threads, it would have to have screws protruding from the top like that.
None of the pictures can tell what type of changer it is though.
EDIT, they don't screw in from underneath. Rather the end plate is threaded and it screws in from above but with a cap screw. Just for the sake of being acurate... _________________ '81 Sho-bud LDG, 2 EMCI's

It's a weird one. Was being sold as an Emmons, but no logo, no serial number, pedals and knee levers aren't right, and changer is wrong. I don't think seller has any intent to deceive, just doesn't really know what he has...and I couldn't figure it out either! |

Can you give us a few pictures that actually show the changer in detail? We need close up views of the changer end (where you tune the pedals), and the underneath view. It could be an all pull changer or a pull release changer. I doubt it's a push-pull. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

I’ve requested more pics but they haven’t been made available. So stuck with these two... |

I had the guy send me more pictures and it included the changer and under the skirt pics. The changer looks like it only had a couple lowering fingers in it. (It's junk). I have the pictures that he sent me in a message but, I'm not tech savvy enough to post them here. I can share them if you message me a cell number. Some of the undercarriage parts look usable but none of it is Emmons. This thing isn't worth a third of what they are asking. Just my opinion. |

Yes, I agree it looks like a Wilcox steel guitar with a different name on it. |

Lockheed Electra ? (Nah, too small).
Do you have pictures of the changer endplate and can you tell if this was converted from a D10, or do you think it was it an SD10 all along? |

The pics that the guy send me shows, it was a D10. The end cap is even messed up. "Figured how to send the end cap picture ".

It's probably an all pull changer, but that's all I can say about it.
Don't buy this steel!! Keep shopping. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |
