Check out this unit, 100 effects, 50 possible programs, 6 effects at a time, tuner, many types of verbs, delay, dist, modulation etc etc. I was never a Zoom user until this unit. $120 give or take for 100 effects and they are all the real deal. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Stereo Steel amp, Telonics 15” speaker.

I've been using this for several years. Effects are more than "good enough" for stage work, and I've been recording with it lately with good results. One of the best features to me is that it doesn't automatically color my tone. Of course, various effects one dials in will color one's tone, but that is built into using an effect.
It does have a few weak spots. The phasers are pretty meh to my ear. |

I have also been using this unit for quite a few years now. It's the perfect solution for me. Sounds great, easy to learn and navigate, and can be clamped to the leg of a steel easily. Most of the 100 or so effects are just silly, but it's got more than enough decent reverbs, delays, eq's, and compressor options to cover what I need for a gig. Very good tuner as well. For fixing it to a steel leg, most good (metal) clamps that are made to hold up a phone will do the job nicely. It can run on batteries (2 AA) long enough for most any gig, but I usually power it with a 1 Spot AC adapter. If you're chasing the absolute holy grail of tone, you might not find it in there, but it sounds very good, and it's the most practical problem solver I've ever had for live playing. I wouldn't go to a gig without it. In fact, I have two.

I’ve had a ZOOM CDR for a couple years and it is definitely good enough for stage work. I recently went on the website and did a firmware upgrade which added 30 or so more effects, all good quality. I like subtle slow phase effects so the Small Stone patch was fine for my needs. What’s that clamp you are using? _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

The clamp that's attached to the leg is something I got from Amazon, designed for a motorcycle or bicycle handlebar. It has a double ball joint thing with a 1/4-20 stud, to which I attached a phone clamp from a selfie stick. It's secure, can be adjusted to any position, and holds the unit well. Avoid similar looking clamps made of plastic.
