I'm working on a project where I might want to sell individual tracks for download.

Anyone have recommendations (pro or con) on platforms for doing this? This would be a subscription format so I'm not looking for a distribution channel but, rather, a way to automate direct sales and downloads.

Thanks!

questions:

who is your target audience ? What kind of tracks, ? for Steel payers or others as well ?

Traditional music tracks or originals ? This matters.

IF its Steel players, then the SG Forum Section MUSIC FOR Sale section is probably best

Will you be hosting your tracks on your own website, or do you intended to host them externally ?

Search MUSIC TRACKS or MUSIC CLIPS for sale, there are a few very good sites but they may require licensing. Many music sites require permission to host or offer music that is under copyright.

Many will require HOSTING from a separate location, as does the SG Forum.

Automated payments is the easy part , access to your direct sales, not so much !

good luck!

I have found some good pickers (mandolin and banjo) on Airgigs. I have also helped a friend of mine find an incredible producer there. There are other similar sites - just can't think of them right now. Good luck!
