OK, time for today's rant.
Five parts to this video topic/subject.
I'll assume that each one is around 8 minutes, so that's 40 minutes plus or minus.
Not just James, but MOST of these guys on YT commit the same error.
Below the video, in the explanation area, under the "Show More" selection, they could give a listing and time point in the video where they cover a certain sub-topic.
That way you don't need to watch the entire video to find the subject you want, or worse, to watch the entire video to find out that there is nothing in there of interest and it was a waste of your own time.
Need an example?
Watch most of the videos posted by Phillip McKnight or JHS Pedals and you'll see what I mean.
Unless it's something that I'm REALLY interested in, I rarely watch any videos that are over 3 minutes and don't have a "Show More" table of contents.
The guys for That Pedal Show from England that post videos 30-40 minutes long and yammer on about the latest cord or whatever from so and so, I can't run away from those guys fast enough. |

It almost appears (to me) to be a promotion for the use of processors. The upside of a processor is that you have everything in one package, and they really shine for studio work. The downside is that you have everything in one package, but getting what you want and wandering through mazes of options and menus can become very involved in the beginning.
(I'm an "old school" barroom hacker, though, and almost never use more than two effects at a time when I'm playing.) |

I should have said that I didn't mean to criticize James and his good intentions in putting together that series of videos for us.
He seems to know his stuff and is a much better player than I'll ever be. |

Great stuff James ! Keep up the good work.
I advise every player interested in learning new things to check out James’s videos. He is showing things from his perspective as a working pro. I wish more players at his level took the time to share with us.
I’m a big fan of tutorial videos. I repaired my refrigerator and a bunch of other stuff using them ! I also watched every mastering using hardware eq video possible. They really help getting an overall perspective on a subject.

There is a lot of good general information in the videos however going straight into a Blues Driver is basically the same as using a buffer ala a Steeldriver or similar since its a buffered electronic FET switching pedal with a high input impedance.

Good Stuff James,
I bought a GT-001 and needed help with the settings.
This is the best on youTube for steel guitar.
All of these tutorials by James are really good.
James is a pro player with great chops. Makes it a hard act to follow when filling in.
