The reverb in my NV112 died so I replaced it. Now it works just fine,
My question: what can go wrong with these things? There’s little to none
electronics in them?
This is the old one.

Tony...those little white objects at both ends of the tank have coils of very thin copper wire that can break or develop a short thru use. Good thing the tanks are not too pricey to replace.

The springs may also eventually get weaker, and bounce together easier. This is especially true if you haul the amp around a lot.

Tony, The wire in those small coils is SO small that standard soldering Technics for repair is pretty much impossible. I tried it, wire will burn up before solder melts and I'm not new at soldering.

My NV112 is 2 years old and the verb has stopped working 2 times. Same fix... a 1/4” male plug in and out of each of the 4 front jacks.

No idea why or which jack fixed it. A disconnect somewhere in the effects loop that this resets??

If it's not the transformers on the tank or something in the reverb circuit, maybe the RCA plugs are dirty and need cleaning and brightening to make a better contact. Usually a bad ground connection on the female jack.

The metal used on generic reverb cables oxidizes easily with white powder.
