Does anyone know what the material is that is used on the d2f covers. I'd like to purchase some as I'm going to have my wife make me a couple covers for various amps I have.
thank you

It's denier nylon canvass. There are different weights of this stuff. I think it's grade 1000. Maybe someone here knows for sure. |

thanks Jerry. I'm finding plenty of denier but not the padded stuff. Hoping someone can post a link |

Tuki uses similar material. I have a Nashville 112 Tuki cover and it appears to be the same that D2F used but the padding is a little thicker. |

I have a Bernina sewing machine that will do upholstery material. I was considering making the covers. I had a D2F cover and I now have my 2nd Tuki cover. The Tuki is the better cover because they use 1/2" foam, have a flap that goes underneath the amp handle, and a velcro strap that goes underneath the amp so the cover can't slide up.
If you look at the seams on the covers, you will see that there is no padding. There can't be because it would be impossible to sew through two layers of 1/2" foam if it was padded material. Even if you could, it would be a mess and wouldn't slide over the amp.You have to buy foam sheets to use as a filler after the cover is partially sewn. Maybe the top first, then the sides, and finish up by sewing the bottom edged, sealing everything up.
I am retired and decided I didn't want to get in the cover making business. Buying the materials needed to just make a few covers for myself wasn't worth the trouble and expense. Tuku does custom sizes, so if I want a cover, I just bite the bullet and pay them to make them. |
