I made this up last year and it has worked out well.I used black electrical tape and taped the cords together about every three inches. I left the right lengths sticking out to fit my effects. Any cords that were too long, I doubled them back and wrapped with the tape. I then got a package of 3/4" cable protector from Harbor Freight for about three bucks. I put it over all my cables making a snake. No more dealing with tangles and a bunch of loose wall warts.

How do you know which plug goes to which wall wart?
Even if they are all the same voltage and polarity, it'd be a good idea to mark them somehow. |

I have made some that look a lot like that - they work great - one of mine I have had 15 years or better - the split tube has a Radio Shack sticker on it -

Ajm, good question. Two of them are identical One Spot's They run my Wet Reverb and DD-3. They are heavy cords and easy to identify. The, skinny cord is a 12 volt for my Lehle volume pedal (although it will operate on 9 volts) The AC cord is for my Black Box. Also, because of the staggered lengths, everything will not reach their mark unless everything is hooked up correctly.I can't hook up wrong. Something is going to be too short.
Color coding both ends by wrapping colored tape around the wiring should mark them nicely. Then to be sure, a matching color of tape on the effects device. |
