Hey steelers
An issue developed suddenly
I have a vertical knee lever that raises sting 1 and 7 a half step
My right knee left raises string 1 a full step, string 2 a half step and lowers string 6 a full step.
Last night both when I hit the RNL it didn’t lower properly so I needed to adjust the pull. I couldn’t. The levers got sticky and won’t adjust to where it raises enough or returns properly.
I tried changing the tension by loosening the rods and putting them in a different slot on the vertical knee. The RKL is a super tight crank as there’s two rods being pulled and they’re so short.
My axe is a very sweet Show Pro S10
I know I’m missing something- I used to know how to fix this. I know the rods need a slight bit of slack;
Thanks in advance for any/ all suggestions |

Right, good. But keep in mind that your 1st string is being changed by two different levers, so you'll want to make sure that, say, overtightening of the hex on the vertical's change isn't pulling the 1st strings' changer finger away from the stop -- thereby screwing up the change you get on RKL, even though it has plenty of slack in the pull train.
I would loosen all nylon nuts on both of those levers and put the vertical back to where it was on the bellcrank. Then add changes back one at a time. That will help pinpoint the problem if it reappears.
Oh, and you didn't, by chance, recently change strings and accidentally swap out a plain 6th string for a wound one (or vice versa), right? |

Thanks guys!
Haven't changed the strings in a few months- so this wasnt' related to a string change.
No, I haven't called Jeff- but yes, that's a great idea...didn't want to bother him....but he's such a great guy, I'm sure he'll help.
I'll try again myself tonight |
