I have been using the same strings for almost 20 years. Unfortunately the quality started to drop of with some of the unwound strings being tarnished with rust spots. I thought I'd try a different make, and bought a boxful of Jagwires via mail order. I got the Buck Reid sets, as Buck is a good friend and he endorses them.
Wow - they are such good quality. The bottom strings are almost piano-like, and the higher strings sustain for ages. They are beautifully wound, especially at the ball end. I also like the slightly higher tension. I will stick with these as long as they are in production.

Danny Hullihen, Owner and Operator of Jagwire Strings, is a personal friend of mine and a great guy. He has an old school approach to customer service and will always put the customer first. I recently switched from SIT strings back to Jagwires. I use the Lloyd Green signature set and the tone from them is really rich. Sustain for days! Thank you Danny Hullihen!

I've been using the Jagwire E9/B6 sets for a few years now and have been delighted with them. I replace the 3rd string (.011) with a .012. I've yet to break any strings, and don't need to change them very often.
Very happy camper here.

I use the Lloyd Green set on my JCH. The finest strings I've ever used.

Buck's set have a .012 on the 3rd string of the E9 set. I'm happy using a .012 and have done for 15 years or so. Modern strings give far less breakages than those of 40 or 50 years ago. If I was playing in a theatre or any concert gig, I would put new 3rd and 5th strings on my E9 neck, but that wouldn't guarantee an evening free of string breakage.
These days, string breakages are so relatively uncommon, I have way more confidence with my guitar than I've ever had. I have heard really good things about Jagwire string reliability.

If Buck's set has an .012" for a 3rd and an .038" for the 10th (I was about to ask that question, Ken!), then I may switch from my current endorsee to Mr Reid's set - just for that pretty picture on the sleeve!

I put a set on an old Dekley I had lying around the house and they lasted around 7 months before the 3rd broke and around another month until the 6 broke. I played the guitar every night just for the purpose of seeing how long they'd last.

Welcome aboard Ken! I find the Jagwire strings to be the closest thing to perfectly consistent than all the many brands I've tried. Plus... you can't beat the customer service. Thank you Danny and Regina!
