Circa 1966 somewhere around there.
Any guess who the steeler is on this small label in WY.The fills are smooth and the break at the 1:06 mark is spine tingling.
The singer Billy Deaton is fantastic too.

I knew Billy Deaton as a booking agent/Faron Young's manager...he was at TNN EVERY NIGHT at Ralph Emery's show taping...
This is a great record...don't know who the steel man is...but he scalded it...

The solo was very original and creative. It sounds to me like it is a blend an off the cuff flash / panic move and something planned out to fit the song really well. Very cool. _________________ blah, blah, blah.

Joe Tippe played on a lot of the Wheeling based records. He was phenomenal! Not sure this is him though. |
