Using a Kemper profiler for my mullen Discovery, makes load out really easy for an older guy.....anyone else using Kemper that has a profile that you could recommend. Using Michael Britts, Nashville400 profile with reverb and delay and sounds good, looking for other profiles. Thanks, Terry

I tried mbritt’s Nashville 400 profile but found that I like his Little Walter 50 (LW 50) much better. Just take all the gain off it, add a little reverb and some delay and it’s off to the races. In fact, I just checked and every steel rig I created is using his LW 50. The Kemper is truly awesome.

Michael what kind of EQ settings did you come up with for the LW 50 profile?

I recently got a few profiles from Mike Britt and he told me he's planning on releasing a pedal steel specific pack. I just checked and didn't see anything. As of late of late January he said to check his site in a month or so. Once released, I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

Very interested in this pack! I just checked as well and it doesn’t seem to be available yet.

I haven't updated my Kemp in a long time. I've read that the NEW verbs and delays are superb. Kind of Strymon level. I'll get around to it but am coasting towards retirement and looking forward to having time to play with this stuff more. It just keeps getting better. So far the Little Walter is my fav profile. I haven't tried the Dr. Z.

The new verbs and delays are unbelivable, I can do so many different things with them.

I have tried a ton of profiles for steel specifically. The 65 Twin Verb from Tone Junkie is by far the best in my opinion. He often has 50% off sales. Here's the link.

OK I updated the Kemper to the new software, got the Britt Little Walter profile dialed in - in my Westones it sounds really similar to the Dr Z Surgical Steel but I can get more bottom out of the LW. What new reverbs/delays are you guys finding that you like?

When I updated mine a couple of days ago, it loaded some new Presets in the system. You find them in the third (far right) window when you open the effects window and use the Browse switch to toggle through them.

I don’t own a Kemper yet, but I heard some profiles from Dr Z that sounded pretty darn good !!...$35 for the set.....Mike Z. makes some nice amps, and these profiles do a good representation of them.....

Michael, I downloaded you rig and it sounds great. Did you profile an actual amp playing a dobro because I don't see any effects or EQ going in in the rig? It would be great if the dobro sound could be on a "stomp" button instead of having to load a new profile.

I just profiled a Boss GE-7 eq pedal set up like the famous “Bobro” and ran it into a Fishman Spectrum Aura pedal using a resophonic image to get the Dobro sound.

Any of you'll tried the Kemper Kabinet yet? Got one yesterday. I like the theory behind it (modeling speakers) but found it to be a little brighter than I've been use to with my E130's. Not ready to make any firm opinions just yet.

Question....

With the Kemper, are people still using a volume pedal, or are you configuring an expression pedal to act like a volume pedal via the KPA settings?
