this guitar was given to my father by the jacksons and stayed mostly in the case.
my father always changed things and this one no different. after looking at it for him and not finding all the parts, i decided to use the jackson parts i had and put it back together but way less complicated than all the engineering gizmos in there. my father wanted to go with a pedalmaster setup, i left the jackson parts there so one could get parts.
it is configured E9 with three floor and 4 knee.
he would like to get 1400 dollars for it.

At that price I’m guessing it’s been sold to a flipper, but that you’ll have another chance to buy it here for like $2400 in around a week.

it would be interesting to know what was done to the undercarriage. i think these came as a dedicated set up. dont know what had to be done to change that. there are a lot of holes there for sure.....

I don't understand putting up an ad that pretty much requires a number of follow-up questions and then answering exactly none of them.

the jackson has many engineering feats and all i can say is neither good/bad. what i can say is that a good changer system should last 20 years if properly maintained.
my father always built to the heavy duty side. his plan was to put a pedalmaster system in it but he had health issues and never finished. when i came in to help him with his assisted living expense (3200 a month)i started liquidating the shop. this guitar had all the jackson parts in a 5 gallon bucket but some parts were missing. i attempted to get a photo of the system but not happening. the way this guitar is built, it would take a massive tear down to install pedalmaster system and it to look right so i decided to use what parts were there but simplify it. the system had some pretty neat items but were added wear points. there were jump-over mechanisms, push rollers and many stops (reason for majority of the holes).
the holes will not affect the guitar at all and i tried to use existing holes.
what was done was two reversing shafts added, stops put onto the cross-shafts and one floor and vertical taken off as he wished. who ever gets the guitar will also get all the remaining parts.
what i did not like was the aluminum hex shafts, 1/8 bearing surface and limited bell crank adjustments, and the added wear points (metal to metal. the pedalmaster system used square key stock, bigger bearing support and changeable bearing with more options on the bell cranks to adjust ratio.

to answer mr. jon: i am not a steel player, i only helped out my father when i could. there are many ??? i cannot answer but he can. i live in a diff town and have a life also so i do not check the forum much and i really should. i used to get notifications on messages from the forum but haven't lately. you can personally send messages. for sure, you will get an answer, just not instantaneously. sometimes, i must get answers from him.

the original setup was 4 floor, 4 knee and 1 vertical. it now has 3 floor and 4 knee. as far as the pedal action, left to right abc. there are names for that but slips my mind but i believe one was named "day" after the player that used it?!?
i can send a copedant, but it is standard and mostly known.

do not get me wrong, the guitar can and does take hard playing. if you follow robert, he plays the guitar pretty aggressive. he played one just like this one in one video.

Just spoke to Roy and I purchased this guitar. Roy is a fine gentleman and exceptional builder. His word is good enough for me. The guitar has some issues but should make good playing unit with some additional care and assembly. Thanks Roy Thomas.

sorry to everyone who tried to communicate, found out that gmail on its own was spamming it. never did this before.
ok mr. larry, my father will probably call. i will collect everything and bring it to him, since he plays, he will give a final inspection and anything not right will be corrected.

instead of wasting time and resources, please research what you are looking for.
for instance, if you want a guitar that is universal and can add/subtract and copedant change at a whim, why buy a guitar that is set in stone, aka for example the carter starter.
a mfg can make a single body and sell it with a certain setup and NOT have the ability to change without major work. why go to all of the time/trouble machining for something it was not designed to do.
this guitar is not sold and is available, i am listing it on craig's list however, i always try to give the forum first chance since you guys have the passion for them.

I made the decision to pass on this purchase due to the limitations of its setup. It's nearly impossible to add or change what is there without major modification and tear down. Roy offered all the information and pictures that led us both to a mutual agreement, it's not what I want. I apologize for my previous post when I agreed to purchase with a limited understanding of what was possible with the setup.
