Always enjoyed doing shows with Merle and The Strangers. Biff was a cool guy, a great drummer too. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. My prayers and deepest sympathies go out for Biff and his family. He sure made a big impact though and that's very cool.

Sincerely,
Chris "Tiny" Olson

I hate to hear about Biff's passing. I always thought he was a pretty neat drummer--very laid back. I remember him retiring from the road about 20 years ago. Thankfully, he didn't stay retired for long, and I had the chance to see him with Merle again in 2005.

Biff was a perfect gentleman & one of the nicest people one could hope to meet. I don't think anyone had ever seen him not smiling. He invented the popular 1/2 time feel country beat & when he did tom fills, the walls shook.
One time I was standing around with Biff & Buck Owens & Buck gave Biff the biggest sales pitch I've ever heard in my life. He tried everything & then some to coax Biff into feeling like he had a hard life with Merle. Of course Biff was quick to point out how content he was making history with the Strangers. So then Buck offered everything from doubling his pay to flying him to work each week to try and Buckaroo the Stranger. Buck was really peacocking & persistent & Biff was real appreciative & polite in his refusal.
My condolences to his family & all his friends-Fuzzy,Norm,Ben,Noel,Kriss,Marty & all.
