I don't do change well I suppose. I bought a new Peterson tuner a couple of weeks ago and I really am going to change from my TU 12 ...someday. I actually got the Strobe out and turned it on once this morning. Then shut it off and used the TU 12. I'll use the Strobe later...maybe. I did see something about Emmons in the paperwork, so it may be ok. Anything Emmons has to be ok.

The manual on the new Strobo stomp HD is pretty daunting, but somewhere i read that mostly what people need to do is choose some presets/Sweeteners (not sure of difference between those 2) when the Strobo stomp is connected by USB to their website petersontuners.com.

You register an account and hit the icon in the upper right which is 2 blue half circle arrows.

I never did see where to get to the steel guitar settings in the manual. The manual seems to be lacking in actual use instruction. At least for pedal steel.

I use the Newman Sweetened turning on both my D-10 Franklin and D-10 GFI. Works out perfectly on both guitars.

There some YouTube instruction videos on the tuner

One thing the video doesn't explain is that when you go online to configure your tuner, you can remove any unwanted sweetener options from your menu. (how often do you really need the sitar sweetener?) They aren't permanently deleted, and can be re-added to the menu at any time. You may want to leave EQU, and just have whichever specific pedal steel sweetener(s) you decide on. That simplifies things when you're using the scroll wheel because you only have a couple of choices to scroll through. The tuner remembers what sweetener you used last, and will go to that one automatically when you turn it on.

Basically, the StroboPlus HD (and I assume the Strobo Stomp) is only complicated if you want to use advanced features. Once it's configured the way you want, it's as easy to use as any tuner.....and you don't have to memorize offsets because they're programmed in.

I just used the switch on the side to scroll to the "SE9" setting and have left it there. Never connected it to a computer.

Well, I did find the metronome right off. Which, I doubt I will ever use.

Thanks for the assist. I believe I will like it after I get accustomed. I do like the idea of the offsets I don't have to remember anymore. That I spent 30 years memorizing.

I gotta let my old tuner acclimate, too. It's a couple cents off if it's been sitting in direct sunlight or if it's been riding in the back of the pickup when it's forty below outside.

In the early 80's I sprung for an electronic tuner, and they weren't cheap. No more arguing whether the pitchfork, or the dial tone, or the pitch pipe, or whatever was wrong. That is until the battery died! (Someone still had a fork in their guitar case!)
