This was from my last live gig I ever played about 5 years ago. I knew it would be my last so I had one of the wives record it. Before this gig I went 5 years without touching a musical instrument Too busy fighting leukemia and bone marrow transplant. As if that wasn't enough I got prostate cancer. I got all the luck! This was a thrown together band for the singers Birthday party. Private party. Everyone was drinking the sauce but I. I was playing a push pull Bryan Adams built before he passed away. Awesome guitar! Country music just runs through my veins. My parents said I was singing and tapping my foot to country radio in the 50's when I was 4 years old. By the time I was 7 I was playing guitar. It's always been with me. Before the band started that night I was on stage doodling on the steel while the other players were talking to family and friends and the bartender girl hollered "Someone turn the jukebox off. The band needs to start" and the band members hollered back "They ain't the jukebox that's David playing". I guess my mission was accomplished. If I never hit another lick I can say I done it.

Great video! Really inspiring to watch as a player of 1+ year. I'm trying to learn a few licks that are along these same lines at the moment!

Thank you Alex! Pedal steel is an amazing instrument. Hope you have the blast I have had playing it.

That is a gorgeous sound. I bet you made some smiles and broke some hearts that night.

I loved every second of the video. Your parents should have named you Tone-y.

Thanks friends! I thoroughly enjoyed my career. Not sure if I'll ever hop on a bus again but I find plenty of pleasure doodling at home on it now. I've actually learned more since I quit playing simply because it's setup at home waiting for me to practice. I guess I'll quit one day for good but I'll keep messing with them while I still can.

I might have to cop the lick you did for the intro for me to play as a turnaround with my band!

Nice David! There's just something so sad and romantic about a steel played in a bar at that level. Kinda like stride piano in an old saloon... Matches the atmosphere perfectly.

Thank you Brett! I haven't been in a bar in a long long time but pedal steels do seem to be right at home in a beer drinking dance hall.
