A friend of mine was kind enough to borrow me a nice Emmons pedal steel guitar. I could buy this steel but I am not sure if it fit's my body height and if I can adjust it. Is there a certain formula and how can you fintune the guitar to your needs ? Sorry, I am a beginner and have no clue about pedal steel.

best

Sebastian

You can definitely adjust height easily and pedal/lever placement w/more work (well, velcro'ing 5x10 cm paddles to the knee levers is easy). fit depends on lots of things, relative leg and arm bone length to torso, seat height, posture, shoes/boots etc. You could post a pic of you sitting at the steel

How tall are you? How far from the floor to the bottom of the steel?

There are fairly inexpensive adjustments available. Speaking as a guy with big feet and long lower legs, fit is a little unpredictable, but can usually be fixed.
