Finally got a real steel guitar seat. Has anyone ever experienced any equpt. failure due to improper packing techniques? My main concern is my new Hilton and an inexpensive but killer delay. Any advise is appreciated.

nutin' yet. Just don't want to ruin my new Hilton. I wrapped it in a towel. Maybe some foam will work. My concern is where the power cord go into the pedal. I do not want to stress it there.

Hi, Rodney, I have a Steeler's Choice and the Hilton pedal with bracket just fits across the front section. I put it in with the bracket to the right and the cord "exit" facing up. There is just enough room to stuff the transformer and excess cord down in front of the left end of the pedal. Been doing it that way a couple of years with no problems.
My problem is something about either the thickness of the foam or actual height of the stool is uncomfortable, and for the life of me I can't put my finger on it. Great seat, just feels a little "strange" for some reason...

This is a very simple problem to solve. The way I do it is to pack a half pint bottle of Wild Turkey on top of the pedal. Sometimes I wrap it in a bar towel, but most of the time it is just sitting there. It is not so much that the bottle protects the volume pedal, but it reminds me not to sling the seat around. I am certain that your pedal and delay will do fine in your seat, both protected and unprotected.

Hmmmmmmmm......my Hilton pedal has an ac adaptor that you can detach. Must be an older model.

could be. Bought it from Fred J. at the Texas show this year. After further review , it is hard wired. Still sounds better than my old un'.

I have a stealers choice, I put the hilton upside down with the bracket tothe right, the cord lays over the potition, and the wall wort in the back compartment, with everthing else around it. I keep a terry cloth towel in my lap so I lay it across the top of everything, no problems yet.

I use a drum throne. Believe it or not when I started I tried to use a chair with castors, but everytime I took both feet off the ground I was propelled backwards....

...that idea only last about an hour.

I too have a Steeler's Choice "sidekick" model seat. The inside of the seat is lined with "ozite" (carpet). The Hilton, with bracket, fits across the front as mentioned.

When I was using a DD-5 delay pedal I would just sit it and the Boss AC power tranformer in the compartment with my cables. Never had a problem.

I have a Peterson VS-II, which seems to be fairly fragile and I found a case that will fit the tuner (without the blue holder) and it too lays in the case without problems.

I want to clear up something Dennis said in this post. 7 or 8 years ago I made pedals that had a power cord that plugged into the pedal. I never dreamed of the limitless problems people have with something that plugs in. Therefore, 7 or 8 years ago I switched to a power supply that connects directly to the pedal. Since attaching the cord to the pedal I have only had two actual failures, out of more than 10,000 pedals out in use. Those two failures were caused by dogs chewing the cord apart. So, I am firmly convinced that the attached power supply is the best way to go for the benefit of the player. The best way to go, because of an extremely low failure rate. Even though I have built pedals going on 10 years, many people assume they know a lot more about pedals than I do, even though they have never built one. Dennis,I would like to know where you came up with your information? That a pedal power supply that is connected to the Hilton pedal is not a newer pedal? Dennis, can you fill us in on how you came up with this information? Thanks!

Keith, Dennis said nothing that would discredit you or discredit your pedal. What he did say was that he had a Hilton pedal with a detachable wall wart and yes they were the front runner to the current model that is hard wired into the pedal. I have one of each.

Well I've got too much junk, er Good Stuff in in my pac-a-seat, my pedal won't fit in there!
I stole a hard shell over night case out of my wifes closet several years back, and that's what I carry both my pedals in. Plenty of room.

I had got a call from a guy who had just bought a new pedal and was real concerned because he thought he got an old one, because of the cord being attached. Everything is cool. I need to thank Dennis and everyone of you guys for using my product. If any of you ever have problems I WILL help you.
