My 1981 Super Pro has been my main steel for about six years. It came with Truetones when I acquired it (third or fourth hand). I got this in a trade with Al Vessel for a Carter I just couldn't bond with. I had a Professional at the time and wasn't particularly expecting much from the Super Pro--just that it be a better fit for me than the Carter. It wasn't long before the Super Pro was my go-to axe. I have others, and I will probably buy-sell-and-trade some more, but the Super Pro ain't going anywhere!

Here's mine... #13838
No pot metal, Duane Marrs' fingers (pins, not slots), original 705's.
And for an extra touch of Bud mojo...teardrop levers from James Moorehead.

I bought this guitar new in the early 80’s. Traded in a Pro-1 (should have kept that too!). It’s all original except pickups are Bill Lawrence. Plays great and sounds great. I have retired it from road travel though. I still love playing it - plays and sounds like a Sho-Bud should!

I still have a Super Pro with my original BL 705 chrome p/u's. It is just like the one in the first pic after your ad.

Will be putting up for sale soon BUT for local area pic up (in Houston area).

Thanx,
Jim

Wow Jimmy, a Rare Rope Inlay Super Pro.....very nice...except get rid of those stupid George L pickups...YUK!!!!if you have to have humbuckers; go with Bill Lawrence 710's; those will be the closest to the real natural sound that "single coil pickups" produce(without the noise).

Yeah, Ricky...those rope SP's are way rare...and very cool.

And this... wish I had this one. First thing I'd do is add some rope on the necks.

I restored this one and played it for a few years. I liked the play-ability and the sound of it. I kept the original pickups.
