Last night I noticed my volume pedal not working properly. At first I thought it was my cables. So I went direct to the amp and eliminated that issue. I wonder if it could be the pot finally dying in me?
Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated

Describe "not working."

If nothing changes, it's likely the string. If it makes nonmusical noises with working the pedal, it's likely the pot.

I once spent a good half hour trying to figure out what was wrong with mine, and then I noticed that the cables were plugged into the wrong jacks

Nothing was coming out whenever I engaged my pedal. I had it hooked up properly.

When you eliminated the pedal you also eliminated a cable. Have you checked the cable? You should be able to see the string to see if it came loose or broke. Quitting suddenly would also indicate a broken wire connection. I doubt it being the pot.

Tommy, I agree with Jerry.
If it is simply not working, then it is either a broken connection or a broken string.

Pretty easy to find out which.

If you need some help, give me a call and I will try to help and if you need a new pot, I have them in stock.

Regards,
Bill

Hey Bill, this is Tommy Shown. Just wanted to let you I fixed the problem with my pot. It came unlooped from the shaft of the pot and the post where it was tied to.
Many thanks,
Tommy Shown
