Here is a 1997 Zum D-10 purchased from Lynn Stafford (his personal guitar). 8x8 with or without a 1 inch lift kit. If you want the lift kit, it has lightweight legs on the front. If not, regular legs, I will ship either way. With lightweight legs the guitar weighs 63 lbs in the case, which is fuzzy grey and in decent shape w/leg bag.
Standard Emmons setup with E's on the left. There is an inside knee (LKL #2 which bumps 1 and 7--the F#s to G's). LKV lowers 5 and 10 B-Bb.
Two extra knees on C6th (Lkl raises 3 and 7 to C# and LkR raises 3 and 6 to F). C6 RKL lowers 3 C-B and RKR raises 5 A-Bb)
Guitar is equipped with splits, in fact it has all the bells and whistles you would expect from being the personal guitar of a gifted technician like Lynn.
$5000 Firm, no trades, plus ride from 98070.
Id keep it but I found a 9x9 Mullen I like better, that and I have two boys ready to go to college, and a recently restored D-10 '77 push pull...
Guitar is in excellent condition, plays great, and stays in tune. What would you expect? Yes this will go fast. text me at 206-276-5822

Tab is correct in stating that this was one of my personal guitars. It resided in my studio for about two years or so.
This is a one of a kind ZumSteel that was originally custom built for Dean Holman. There are spring-loaded dowel pins in the crossbars that protrude into blind bushings in the rear apron (similar to an Emmons LeGrande). But Bruce designed them in such a way that they are completely serviceable and the crossbars can be readily removed if desired.
Because of the Franklin change on the 4th pedal, I incorporated a 3rd pull rod to facilitate the 5th string split to C while using the 5th VKL and pedal A. There is also a 6th string split to G (RKL + B pedal) and a 7th string lowering compensator. This is a great playing and sounding steel! _________________ Best regards,
Lynn Stafford

This was my guitar, I saw this color on one of Jimmy Crawford’s JCH cabinets. He said he got the Formica from Paul Franklin Sr. I bought some of it from Paul Sr and sent it to Bruce to build that guitar out of. I played that guitar when I was working for Tanya Tucker. I ended up selling that guitar to a student that I was giving lessons to when I moved back to Branson. My student decided that he wanted to learn dobro instead. I ended up taking it to Bobby Seymour and he bought it. I don’t know where all it went after that. I wish I hadn’t of gotten rid of it. I can only imagine how it sounds now. To my knowledge, I’m pretty sure it’s the only Zum with that color Formica. Wish I could find a way to get it back, but I just can’t afford Zums anymore. |

Also looks to be an 8 and 8, not 8 and 7 ?? _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

MAn these really nice ones wind up on great stages. Lots of people interested but I bites yet. Just for the record-I paid 5500 for it, plus more to get it switched around. _________________ Tab Tabscott
