The shop is now open for setups, adding pedals and levers, adjustments, 100,000 mile checkups ect. Not ready for full restorations just yet. If you need work done on your pedal steel give me a call @214-714-6932, pm me or email coxsteelguitars@gmail.com

I had a d10 Emmons push pull 8 an 6 that Johnny did the setup on. I told Harry Jackson how easy this steel played for a push pull. Harry ask who did the set up when I told him Johnny Cox he smiled an said that’s the real reason she plays so well.

Thats great!!! Johnny has the know how and the experience,,,between Houston, Austin and San Antonio there should be enough business there to keep a repairman going.

Does this mean you are off the road for awhile? Are you playing regular for Flores? We would love to have you at the San Antonio Steel Guitar club meetings,,,next one is this coming Sunday. I'd like to come over and see you sometime.

Yes I have been off the road since March of last year. I got injured on my day job back in May. The shop I currently have is very small but things are in the works for a much larger shop here on our property. Hopefully by early summer I'll be back to doing full restorations with my wife's help. Yes I'm still playing with Bobby Flores and some others as well.
For setups, pedal additions, pickup changes ect. I'm set now.

Johnny built my Millennium when he worked at MSA, and I must say, the guitar is PERFECT. He really knows his stuff.

I don't know if I'm his FIRST customer or not, but I've gotta be close! My wife and I made the trek down to Halletsville yesterday on a rainy February Tuesday so Johnny could install two more knee levers on my Mullen G2.

We'd set it up last week -- Johnny called Mullen and told them what he needed, I called them and paid for it, Jeanette got it shipped out Priority Mail the next day, just as smooth as if everyone knew what they were doing.

Johnny installed the knee levers using nothing but a Swiss Army knife! Well, not really, but a lot of his tools were still in storage. But all he needed was a few Allen keys, a screwdriver or two, a file, and a drill. I guess his huge amount of knowledge and experience probably played a part, too....

Meanwhile, my wife hung out with Sho-Bud, Johhny's big ol' black dog. She came home admitting that the whole trip had been a lot more enjoyable than she expected.

Johnny made short work of this job, and you can't tell the middle knee levers weren't installed at the factory. He will soon be set up to handle just about anything, and you'd have a real hard time finding anyone as experienced, capable, and downright nice to be around. Highly recommended!

We made it back to Austin before the evening commute.
