One of my volume pedals (Hilton) has one of the screws on the side coming out while I play. After about an hour or less of playing, it looks like in the picture below. I have to reach down and screw it in. I don't want to screw it in too tight because then the pedal requires more pressure to operate and I want it to move easily.
Any easy fix suggestions to keep the screw from coming out without screwing it in really tight?

You might try a drop or two of the non permanent type Loctite. |

Clear or any fingernail polish on the threads. Easy to break loose and will keep it snug. |

Jacek, You should be able to tighten that screw as much as you want. It shouldn't have any affect on how the pedal functions. If it does then, there must be something else going on. |

It's nice to know I'm not the only one with a screw loose in here........ _________________ I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying. |

LOCKTITE Thread Locker BLUE #242 (removable). 1 drop or less...
When you need something to stay put that you might have to loosen in the future. RTV also works, as would a lock washer. |

I always just crimp the threads very lightly with a pair of pliers, or on a hard surface - using a hammer. |

I will order the Loctite 242 that you guys recommend. It looks like an easy fix that should work.
This is a small simple mechanical issue, no reason to contact Hilton I think. The pedal is definitely harder to operate if you tighten the screw because I tried it. I don't want to do any "hammer crimping" yet because that may damage the pedal and cause it to not move as smoothly as it does now (I have another Hilton where you feel a slight clicking or bumpiness at one point in the pedal throw...Want to avoid causing this).
Thanks for the advice, guys. |

Permatex Threadlocker Blue is equivalent, if that's easier to find in Canada. |
