I talked with Gary Carpenter this morning and he told me that maybe... just maybe, my steel would be done this week! This was originally a 9x7 but I decided that I would rather have a C6 Left Vertical than another floor. Now it is an 8x8. After playing Fred Justice's guitar this weekend, I decided to go with the E66/10L combo for pups. I sure hope mine sounds as good as Freds! I was so impressed with Freds setup, that I have bought a Lexicon reverb and Stewart power amp in the last day. I already was using the same Evans preamp.
I'm feeling like a little kid at Christmas!

What's the E66/10-1 combo? E9=E66 C6=10-1? I'm curious.

Chris... yes, that is correct. I was going to get something else because I don't like the graphics they put on them... but Freds sounded so sweet, I can overlook that.

Shoot...
Here it is a week later and no new guitar.
I was really hoping to play it at this past weekends gig, but nooooo.... I had to play my Emmons

I'm fixing to hire me an Injun to do me a Rain dance! I left a message on Carps answering machine Friday but didn't hear back.

I think I'll sue for mental anguish!

Steve, same thing going on here. I do know that Bob Rains separated a shoulder and is not able to do much work right now. I am not putting on a rush because I want them to take all the time working on it they need to make it right and I am sure they will do that. I am eager to get it though. I have one ordered for Dan Sliter of the Elite Seat Company as well. Be sure and let give us a report when you get yours.
Jerry

Steve, Jerry and Erv-Your Rains guitar is worth the wait. I've had my D10 8&8 one year this week. I am really happy with my choice of a Rains. The tone, playability, etc. of the guitar and overall support from Bob and Gary is just super. All My Best, Randall

I am playing a Gospel model D-10 Rains right now and really like it. It is an excellent sounding, looking and playing guitar. Bob is building an SD-10 for me now.

I just got back from Fort Worth. My guitar is stunning... to say the least. The craftsmanship is superlative and the sound is...well, just full bodied, sparkling, and everything I hoped for. This is what a steel guitar should be. No corners cut, solid constuction built for a lifetime of use.
I will post pictures later.

Jerry, Dan, and Erv... I saw your guitars and they are all progressing nicely.
