Anybody in the vicinity of San Angelo looking for a steel player? Full/part time/sub? I can sub on bass if needed.

Welcome to San Angelo. There are only a handful of steel players here in town so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding a band to play with. There are lots of live music venues in town. When I came to town I visited some of the places and met some musicians and in no time I was playing with two bands.
I will keep my ears open and see if we can find a group that’s needing a steel or bass player.

Blaine's

Hang out there and you will meet folks. Bring your rig and ask to sit in.

San Angelo is a cool town; a college town with a lot of music. By the way, don't drink the water. Very Happy

Jon, thanks for the response. Yeah, I visited Blaine's one afternoon. I wish I had a nickle for every time I've played in places much like it over the last 50+ years. But, the combination of age and physical health make it nearly impossible for me to either fight or run so, I think I'll pass. But, again thanx for the suggestion.

Several years ago, one of my cousins researched one branch of our family tree and found that our great grandmother's maiden name was Day. Hmmm?

Yeah, didn't they have a plaque on the stage with his name and the date or something?? It's been a quite a few years since I played there.
