I see Ginger Baker on here so it only seems fitting to pass on deepest sympathies to Rush and their family in regards to the recent loss of world acclaimed drummer “ Neil Peartâ€. Sad day indeed! _________________ I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.

One of my early musical heroes. A master of not only technique, but of tasteful musicianship as well.
He was also quite the poet, writing probably about 99% of Rush's lyrics beginning when he joined the band on their second album... and they are very deep lyrics.
Another notable thing to mention is that he was the producer of two Buddy Rich tribute albums, where he assembled a long list of top-notch drummers of the time (early 90's) to play as guest drummers with the former members of the Buddy Rich Band.
The way he approached music and life has always been an inspiration to me.
'All this machinery making modern music can still be open-hearted. Not so coldly-charted, it's really just a question of your honesty... One likes to believe in the freedom of music, but glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusions of integrity.'

Godspeed Neil.
I refrained from posting here so I posted about him in the Music section.
The song Limelight reflects Neil's feelings about not wanting to be famous and having to do the meet and greet.
He's had some tough times in his life. Lost his young daughter and his wife months apart back in the 90's. Really threw him for a loop he had to take off a year and rode a motorcycle travelling by himself. _________________ ShoBud The Pro 1

As if "Steel Players" and "Rush fans" on their own weren't small enough demographics to begin with, here we are: "Steel Playing Rush fans"! Figure we better stick together and communicate!
It's been such a sad week as, many years before I got the bug to play steel, I learned how to play music through playing guitar to Rush records.
Hugs and condolences! _________________ 1968 ZB D11
