Does anyone know a good pedal steel teacher in or around Portland Oregon? I know Eric West, but he's too busy.
thanks,
Kurt

I think Larry Behm is in the Portland area. As I recall he's done some instructional materials, and is probably a good bet.

Pete Burak is a terrific player - not sure if he's teaching at all. Both are forumites and should be easy to contact.

Kurt I'm not from your area, but what I am doing is planning a 8hr trip to billy coopers for psg lessons Here in cincy psg teachers, well there is really only one and thats if your lucky to catch him and if he can take you, I was fortunate but I know what its like, I plan a small vacation and lessons can vary 2 to 3hrs a day and maybe 3 days? its really up to the individual, I know long commutes are sometimes part of the trade but as I said Don't Give up!! and I'm sure someone guys can suggest some teachers for you!!!

Kurt, I'd be happy to spend some time with you but I would also recommend Larry Behm for formal lessons, he has excellent technique and real-world experience and I break too many "rules" to make a good teacher.

Kurt. Remember I have your vest, and Wednesday eve is "open" if you want to come over and plug in again.

Hope you can connect with the above guys for more formal studies.

If I had more time, I'd take lessons from all of them..

Sometimes I do without their knowing it..

Larry is in Mt. Angel, still teaching, and still a great guy.

But don’t tell him I said anything nice.
