I've finally been able to sit down and listen to Travis Toy's album.
It is an amazing piece of work and certainly not your typical steel guitar album.
His bass ,dobro , and guitar playing is also great!

Thanks so much, Bruce. You already know this, but you’re a hero of mine on the instrument, and it means a lot to me that you like it. Cheers my friend!

The down side of listening to this album is that it's made me contemplate another line of work Smile Seriously there is some very serious musicianship on this record. The dobro and banjo playing are both world class but there are things that Travis does on steel that I've never really heard from anyone else and there are times when I forget I'm listening to a steel guitar album.
Kudos Travis!

Thanks Bruce. I really wanted to make a steel album that people other than steel players would enjoy listening to. I'm really proud of how it turned out, and I think there's a little something for everyone on there, no matter what you like.

I just sat down and listened to TT's album and I must agree with Bruce, there is some incredible musicianship on this recording. His tonality is spot on even at lightning speeds he is picking.Kudos Travis!

I listened to this album the other day and enjoyed it. My favorites are the more folky/country tunes. Great dobro playing too. The faster, more rocking stuff reminds me a little of Steve Morse's instrumental music.

What really blew me away is how good Travis's singing sounds on the only vocal tune "You've got a hold on me."
At first I thought it was Vince Gill, but the liner notes say it's Travis singing. Wow.

Seriously Travis, if you can sing like that, I hope you write/record some songs where you sing and play steel together. Steel players that also sing lead vocals are not that common and there's lots of room to shine here.

Thanks Jacek. I appreciate the kind words. Maybe at some point I’ll get around to doing a vocal based album. I needed to get this instrumental one out of the way first. Ha. Took me a LONG time to actually get around to it. Based on that time frame, be looking for a vocal record around 2047. Haha.

As good a Debut as any ever presented, solid playing on multiple instruments as well as being his own rhythm section! Amazing sounds, out of the box thinking. Tom Scott & the L.A. Express add pedal steel...Impressive!!
