Found and old live recording of me at the Winchester Steel Convention with the great Leonard T. Zinn backing me on archtop guitar.

I've not heard of this one...(the waters of Molokama?) although there is an old Alfred Apaka tune of a similar name, but different tune. Nicely done.

Off topic but like your version of My Rose of Waikiki on your soundcloud. Did you learn that from the version Jules Ah See did (the one on Youtube is the one of the few versions I've run across)?

Aloha Nic,

Yes, that's the Jules Ah See version.

Nice job, Derrick.
Since you are playing some of Jules Ah See songs, you can learn, "No Huhu"

Aloha Don,

Hahaha! I would have to buy the Chinese hat for that to play the part.

You can afford it now that you are a professional. Very Happy

Or since Barney played and sang it without a Chinese Hat, that would give you permission. Laughing

I love both their versions! Jules was (in my opinion) a better singer (the tracks on the Tapa Room Tapes where he takes lead, just wonderful stuff) but Barney adds a lot of fun to it:

Nic you are spot on in your analysis. I have heard Barney play and sing "NO HUHU" numerous times and he was always hilarious.

Jules did have a better voice: Here is proof.
