I just ordered a Kemper Profiling amp today. I understand that Bruce Bouton is playing through one of these.
Does anyone one know if he has published his profile? Has he ever discussed it on here?
I am looking to get my hands on a few profiles so I can establish a good starting point.
Any information will help.
Please and Thank you. _________________ Rittenberry Prestige D10, Dekley S14U, (stolen) ZumSteel D10

Are you using it on stage? Are you using it without an on stage speaker? What have you learned about the profiles? Did you purchase them or did you make your own profiles? Where should a new user start to flatten the learning curve? _________________ Rittenberry Prestige D10, Dekley S14U, (stolen) ZumSteel D10

If you want to know what it is like in a live situation, you might want to talk to Troy from Lessons with Troy. I bought mine on his suggestion. He uses his live all the time. |

Been using one for four years. Michael Britt has a great sounding Session 400 profile. Not sure if its for sale but you can email him about it. https://mbritt.com/ Great guy.. Much of this was done using one. https://youtu.be/U4WS2lAKjpo |

Regarding the pedal steel podcast......
It's almost an hour and 20 minutes.
Can you narrow it down to where they talk about the Kemper? |

I got mine in today. Micheal Britt and Brian Dastes profiles are all good. It took less than 20 minutes to get set up with profiles that work. Very little tweaking. I set profiles both going direct and using my 15†Evans Eclipse speaker. I’m ready for Saturday night. I am looking forward to a deeper dive to create profiles that have some crunch and some wah etc. _________________ Rittenberry Prestige D10, Dekley S14U, (stolen) ZumSteel D10

Try Micheal Britt's "Lil Willie" profile. It's a Little Walter 50 and as I remember it's the one Bruce Bouton was using. He liked it so much that he bought a Little Walter amp. |

Wally, that's a great group and a killer groove. Love the song. That reso lap steel is deadly good. The whole tune is just excellent. |

Bruce, welcome to the world of Kemper. I got mine back in April and have loved it ever since. You discovered the same thing I did, despite looking complicated, it is so easy to dial in a perfect sound quickly. After trying several different profiles, I settled on the Little Walter 50 from mbritt. It sounds the best to my ears at least. I also created a killer dobro profile by profilling a Boss GE7 eq going into a Fishman Spectrum Aura pedal using a resophonic image. It even sounds better imho than a Goodrich Matchbro. You’ll find there are endless amount of things you can do with the Kemper, it never stops amazing me. |

Bruce, also to save you some time if you’re looking for a stand and or case for your Kemper, here is what I found after lots of research..Case- Ape Camera Case. It fits the profiler remote as well. I found this On-Stage amp stand and just cut the lower tube pieces to shorten them for the Kemper.

Michael Hartz: Not trying to be Mr. Negativity Pants, but I'd consider putting some kind of a strap around the Kemper to hold it to the stand.
All it takes is one person not paying attention, running into that set up, and the Kemper would be falling to the floor. |

I'm wondering why those of you that got the lunchbox style Kemper and are devising cases and stands for taking it to gigs didn't go with the rack version. |

I use mine in the studio a lot, the Lunchbox is easier to deal with in that setting. Also with the stand I built I can have it right next to me..

The feet on the bottom of the Kemper nest in perfectly between the tubes of the stand so it’s alot sturdier than it looks. It would have to take a pretty good bump to even begin to knock it off. Plus I don’t let people get near it onstage. |

Wondering if Kemper users are choosing the unpowered Kemper profiler or the
600 watt powered profiler? How many are using IEM or a powered speaker in conjunction with the Kemper? |

I opted for the powered head. I use a powered FRFR speaker and I use IEM’s too. I play in several groups and select the equipment that suits the job. I wanted the powered rack in case I needed to use a speaker cab for a particular gig. _________________ Rittenberry Prestige D10, Dekley S14U, (stolen) ZumSteel D10
