I've been playing a lot of C6 8 string lap recently, and have a double neck coming soon.

Pondering what tunings for my far, 2nd neck, I started thinking about what I could do with guitar standard tuning, since I played slide on that for 30+ years and feel super comfortable with all my scale and chord possibilities. I came up with this:

L ----> H

C# E A D G B E G#

So, you see I've got guitar standard on the middle 6 strings, with an added high and low string. Just off the top of my head, in open position you have these chords:

A

A major7

A7

G

G6

E

E6

E7

Emin

Emin7

Plus all my familiar scale shapes and intervals.

I think it could be pretty versatile, especially as a "soloing" neck.

Thoughts?

Are the C# and G# Re-entrant? or is that a really Low (fat) C# string and a really hi (Skinny) G# string?
