Any recommendations on a replacement nut for my Recording King lap steel? The original nut was chipped so I had a Delrin nut made for the guitar but it was about 1/4” too short. I shimmed the new nut with a piece from the old nut but I’d like to get a good replacement for it.

I did a brief search and mostly came up with angled nuts as opposed to a drop in such as this. Thanks in advance!

If it were mine, since I have all the tools, I would make one myself from either aluminum bar stock or a bone nut blank (available from StewMac and elsewhere).

I realize this could be a long shot, but have you tried to contact the importer? Perhaps they could procure an original for you from the Asian manufacturer.

Thanks, Jack. Using the contact page on the RK website the US distributor for Recording King, The Music Link, is sending a replacement nut at no charge since the guitar is less than 5 years old.
