Caught AATW a couple of days ago for their Christmas Show, FANTASTIC, as they always are.
Who is the steel player? He is playing a 53 Maggie triple 8, I spoke with him for a minute after the show, really nice guy.
BTW- as always, AATW has fantastic steel players, never been disappointed, and this guy fits right in and sounds great |

Tony Locke is a really really great player. I’m glad to hear that he’s with AATW.
I hope they get up this way sometime. |

Was wondering what the A6 notes are low to high that Eddie Rivers is tuning to. Anyone know? If so could you please post it? Thanks in advance. |

Eddie Rivers uses standard A6 as far as I'm aware. So the low to high would be: F#AC#EF#AC#E. |

Thanks for the kind words. Jay I remember you telling me you also have a Magnatone. They are nice guitars and have a really lush tone. If I remember correctly yours the Bigsby designed model(chrome pickups, stars on fretboard etc.) Those are the best sounding in my opinion. |

Hello Anthony,
Congrats on the Wheel gig.
Coincidence: I was just telling Forum buddy Jim Newberry that to the best of my recollection Dick Sanft played a Magnatone double (or triple) eight on his old LP. Sure enough, the tone sounds very similar to yours.
I have not kept up with Dick Sanft. Does anyone know his status? Is he alive and well?
Todd Weger, do you know? |
