Caught AATW a couple of days ago for their Christmas Show, FANTASTIC, as they always are.
Who is the steel player? He is playing a 53 Maggie triple 8, I spoke with him for a minute after the show, really nice guy.
BTW- as always, AATW has fantastic steel players, never been disappointed, and this guy fits right in and sounds great Smile

Hi Jay,
Unless there's been a recent change, the steel player would most likely be Eddie Rivers:

Nope, Not Eddie.
Younger guy, probably 30-35 years old

Tony Locke is a really really great player. I’m glad to hear that he’s with AATW.
I hope they get up this way sometime.

Was wondering what the A6 notes are low to high that Eddie Rivers is tuning to. Anyone know? If so could you please post it? Thanks in advance.

Eddie Rivers uses standard A6 as far as I'm aware. So the low to high would be: F#AC#EF#AC#E.

Thanks for the kind words. Jay I remember you telling me you also have a Magnatone. They are nice guitars and have a really lush tone. If I remember correctly yours the Bigsby designed model(chrome pickups, stars on fretboard etc.) Those are the best sounding in my opinion.

Hello Anthony,

Congrats on the Wheel gig.
Coincidence: I was just telling Forum buddy Jim Newberry that to the best of my recollection Dick Sanft played a Magnatone double (or triple) eight on his old LP. Sure enough, the tone sounds very similar to yours.

I have not kept up with Dick Sanft. Does anyone know his status? Is he alive and well?

Todd Weger, do you know?
