Would some one tell me the cost of a brand new Double 10 bolt on push pull with 8 pedals an 4 knees in 1967??
I’m thinking with inflation the new steels that sell today are a bargain in comparison with yesteryear’s price?
$1500 in 1967 is equal too $11400 in $2019 with inflation. |

I remember when a new D10 Emmons with 8 pedals was $500. I think knee levers were $25-35 ea.

This is how you calculate inflation via the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index...
But as you know, there is a BIG difference between a brand spankin' new factory fresh instrument and one that has been used, abused, and stripped of 90% of its undercarriage like so many that turn up for sale on the market today. These instruments have lost much of their value as a 'vintage' instrument and will require extensive refurbishment, likely costing thousands of dollars by a skilled push/pull mechanic, of which there are very few...
At the end of the day, the market price is what someone is willing to pay, regardless of whether it aligns with the inflation of the consumer price index.

Well if you could buy a d10 8 an 4 for 500 in 1967 heres a comparison on google.

So this figure is wrong If you start at $ 500 for a d10 8 an 4 In1967 google says in 2019
A D10 8 an 4 would be around $3818 |

I have receipt for Emmons D-10 Bolt On #2638, sold 8/7/67 and delivered to St Louis, for $650 (shipping included)
2 each dual pickups, at an additional $12.50 each
No mention of knee levers
$675 Total invoice |
