Does anybody know how plays steel on Stuart Hamblen's "This Ole House"? Thanks in advance for any info. It was cut at RCA Victor in NYC.

Steve - Thanks for checking in. Yes, Roy Smeck a strong probability. Certainly would have been a NYC studio player. I didn't think of that. Smeck was 54 years old in 1954 and would still have been active and probably still first call in NYC. On the Hamblen record the part is more of an effect than a Hawaiian player doing call and answer - this would indicate someone with Smeck's experience. Still looking into it. There is a Bear Family CD in library. I will reply when I find something definite. Thanks again.
