Topic: G to G# strings 1 and 7 copedent change on Stage one |

I was looking at Doug's site and it says you can change the 1/7 string raise on the RKL to G# instead of G. Is this as simple as tuning it to G# on the rod or is there something that needs to be changed underneath?
I searched on the site and didn't see any posts that specifically mentioned this change. |

I raise 7 F#-G# with a feel half stop at G. Just try tuning the change up. You may not have to do anything else.
Bobbe Seymour had 7 F#-G# on the knee that flatted 2 and 9. A lot of players, including Paul Franklin, raise 7 to G#, as opposed to lowering 6 to F#. For a while, I did both, but wanted something else more than raising 7 to G#. Thanks for the info guys. I am going to check out the bellcrank and see if there is another hole....I am thinking there should be as it mentions they can be set up with this raise.

Thanks for the info on PFs copedent Richard. I didn't realize he had that raise on string 7 also. Maybe I'll have a look at doing it on mine one day. Need to think about what I would do with it. |

To do some of the stuff in this video you would need a half-step raise on string 2 in addition to the full-step raise on string 1. Stage One guitars don’t do the half-step raise on 2, as far as I know.
The major 3rd to minor 3rd double stop change in the video on strings 1 & 2 is simple enough on your Stage One, lowering 2 a half-step, picking 1 & 2 together, and then sliding down two frets while releasing the lever. You could also raise string 1 a half step, pick 1 & 2 together, then slide down 1 fret while releasing the lever. |

Everyone thanks for the help! Frank you are right about the stage one. There is no option for a raise on string 2. I am going to try the half step lower workaround you mention.
I really like the sound of the 7th being raised to the same note as the 6th. |
