I couldn’t find any credits for this track, but it sounds like Jimmy Crawford, or maybe Dickey Overbey, possibly early Sonny Garrish.

Sounds like Jimmy Day to me. The same guy that played on the Price record. Jimmy kinda squeezed the sound out of the steel and that's what I hear on the Harlan Howard record.

Everybody in my family is poor so unfortunately not. Laughing

In the early 60's Owen Bradley at Decca and Chet Atkins at RCA used only Pete Drake and Jerry Byrd with an occasional wild card. In the mid to late 60's they started using other players. Walter Haynes told me it took him forever to convince Owen to try Buddy Emmons. Pete would be the most likely candidate but unfortunately the union hall in Nashville had all those session records destroyed.
