A friend of mine who plays steel has had a stroke which left him partially paralyzed on his left side. He is looking for a bar with a finger ring attached. Apparently he saw one, or saw an ad for one at one time. If you can help me locate one for him (new or used) it would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

The bar he likely saw, the only one I know of that was commercially produced, was made by Chuck Brattain (who stopped making them a long time ago and is no longer with us).

If anyone wanted to tackle the project, this was the basic idea, with the ring assembly inserted into the bored center of the butt of the bar.

I just found these photos on file. I'm not sure if these are Chuck Brattain's product or someone else's version of the concept.

I've seen some threads here and the other "ahem" reso forum about people dealing with RSI, carpal tunnel, arthritis, other medical conditions etc on the bar hand. If you search "bar for arthritis" "can't hold bar due to injury" etc, you should find some
