Congratulations for great looking and no doubt, great sounding guitar. Was the case a special order? It appears to be a road or flight case with recessed casters on changer end of the case. I had a case configured like that for an S14 Sierra I used to own. I have a ATA flight case for my Emmons p/p S12 that is also configured like that. It's really the way to go. Heavier, but way better protection than an SKB ("Wheel-Ez") case.
BTW: Don't worry about the grass. When people hear you pickin' that cool guitar they won't let you stop to cut the grass.
Keep on pickin' (yeah, like I have to tell you...)

Very nice! Better get it inside before bugs get on it Hey, I thought you lived in Seattle?, doesn't look like rain to me.
My '95 S12 is a clear version of this, I absolutely love it.... still (or is that steel?). have fun on the first gig!

Gorgeous color. I like lacquer, but I would always be afraid of dinging it. Hence, my decision to go mica:

My Carter was "born" last October, and I really like it. |

Very nice but I have one bit of advice for you Jay.
When you bring the guitar in from the cold, let the guitar warm up slowly inside the case before you open it or it WILL crack the finish.
Don't ask me how I know.
Happy pickin and Birthday!

Glen, the case is Carter's optional Grundorf case, I have the same case for my Carter lacquer D10.
Very stout and precisely made, rolls well, not super heavy.

Thanks everyone, I'm totally digging it, can't wait to play it out.
Time to sell the SD-10 Carter. I'd been waiting for this one to arrive, so I'll have it up for sale soon if anyone is interested.
Thanks for all the advice and suggestions.

Jay-
Oooh...Great looking axe!
Wecome to the D-10 wood Carter club!
Maybe sometime we can share a stage in Seattle and get our guitars together to make a wall of matching maple-y goodness, gleaming pearl and sparkly "polished package!"
