Then you would have a double dust catcher.
Try a can of compressed air and a soft, long-bristled brush. |

Oh to clean it?? yes blah blah...whatever....BUT if you want it to look shiny and Dust free and NOT that dry dull look after you clean it with blowing it off or brush it....>then use LEMON OIL and also Lemon oil does NOT attract that dust look.....EVERYthing attracts dust...but if you want it to look shiny and not dull all the time.....do the lemon oil like I said. I've been doing this for 20 years on dustcatchers and I have gotten many replies back from ShoBud's I restored even a years later saying their dustcatcher just doesn't look dirty/dusty like it has all the time before I put "LEMON OIL" ...you know; "old english" on it.
So there ya go; there's my rant from someone who has done and tried everything and now 20 years later; it is what I have done and recommend for the FINAL look.

Not to hijack the thread (well, actually I am I guess), is there any way to repaint the dustcatcher fretboards? My Pro III's were so bad I changed them out for plexiglas covered vinyl reproductions. |

I used a tooth brush with lemon pledge. Don't have them anymore. I bought the colored ones from Tom Bradshaw. |
