We play at a "Little Opry Dance Hall" and they are paying a yearly fee. |

Venues that play live music pay ASCAP or BMI fees. That’s how those agencies collect money to pay the songwriters their royalties.
This forum has a lot of professional musician members who count on royalties as part of how they (sometimes barely) make ends meet. I used to be one of them. |

we talk about this fairly often, the venue pays a fee per the structure they select. Its not a ONE fee for all. Its based on venue, size, how many nights /week do they have music etc...Musicians / bands , have nothing to do with it.
Musicians / Bands may be obligated to Musician Unions , which is not BMI, SESAC or ASCAP. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,
